Croatia - Day 1 The Journey and Jagerhorn Hotel

Our flight to Zagreb, via Munich, on Air Canada was remarkably pleasant. Although right after take off a flight attendant stole Monica's blanket and sleep kit. We asked 3 other attendants for a replacement and it was only a kind fellow traveller that gave her blanket to Monica.

We arrived at the Munich airport around 8am for a 3.5 hour layover. Saw lots of men in shorts and green fuzzy hats. Oktoberfest had started in Germany.

Our next flight to Zegrab was quick and pleasant. Immigration, customers and luggage retrieval was easy. Our pre-arranged driver was there as we exited and showed us where to buy SIM cards for our phones. The half hour drive to the Jagerhorn Hotel took us through residential areas and grand squares. The driver dropped us off a 3 minute walk from the hotel - cars are not given access to the old quarter.

The Jagerhorn (http://www.hotel-jagerhorn.hr/en/) is one of the oldest hotels in the city, but its decor has been kept up to a modern standard. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. They gladly carried our bags up the stairs to our 2nd floor suite. Our suite consisted of two rooms. The bedroom was large with a King size bed, desk and armoire. It also had direct access to the ensuite bathroom. The other room had two couch/beds, tv and chairs, but very little useable lighting.

The hotel included complimentary breakfast which was quite nice with good variety.  We would be happy to stay here again and highly recommend the Jagerhorn. The front desk clerks ALL went out of there way to give us directions, make reservations and suggest places to go.
